Small Potatoes | Friday, October 25
Nineteen years ago, Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso, the Chicago area duo known as Small Potatoes, decided to hit the road. “In one year, we quit our jobs, bought a house, bought a car, and became fulltime folk singers– not exactly the greatest combination, financially speaking, or what most people would call a sound business model. We didn’t throw darts at a map, but we might as well have.” They might not have had the best plan, but what they did have were great songs and musicianship, and the ability to put on a show. Eighteen years, more than a […] Read more »
Claude Bourbon | Friday, October 4
Attention guitar players, and fans of guitar music: prepare to be dazzled. Claude Bourbon plays with all ten fingers for a reason: because that’s all the fingers he has. Born in France in the early 60’s, Claude Bourbon grew up in Switzerland, where he was classically trained for many years. This finger picking guitarist has performed and studied all over the world; he has crafted an unbelievable fusion of classical and jazz, with ethereal Eastern influences, Spanish and Latin elements with strains of Western folk. The unique Monsieur Bourbon is a formidable performer. He may have his roots in the […] Read more »
Dan Navarro talks about Sundilla
Maybe we take for granted what we have in Sundilla. In 2013, we will bring in performers from 12 states (California, Oregon, North Dakota, Iowa, Texas, Illinois, New York, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama) and Paris, France. All of them make a living by making music; for them it’s their full-time job, not something they do in their spare time. Bringing in diverse talents from so many different places was never something we thought about; it’s just what we do. But it turns out that it’s a bigger deal than we thought. Before he started his second set on May […] Read more »
Tokyo Rosenthal | Friday, September 20
“Rosenthal can draw you into his lyrics much the same way that James Taylor and Don Henley can”. “Take Jackson Browne’s personal confessions and wrap them in Kris Kristofferson’s world weary tales of broken relationships and you have an idea of what to expect from Tokyo Rosenthal.” “This is Americana with real teeth in the lyrics.” This and more is what the critics are saying about Tokyo Rosenthal. But it wasn’t an overnight trip. Hardly, as “Toke” has spanned the music scene for three decades. But it was in 2007 when recognition finally reached him through the recording of his […] Read more »

SONiA | Thursday, May 16 | AUUF (Indigie Femme opens)
SONiA’s musical style ranges from folk, bluegrass and blues to pop-rock and rap-like rhythms. Perhaps in a past life, SONiA was one of the original troubadours, a poet-musician roaming Europe in the 13th century, singing songs of courtly love. She certainly is a contemporary troubadour, touring the globe and singing her songs. SONiA’s concerts are lively, fun, entertaining and yes, even enlightening, but never dull or depressing. There is an exuberance and passion shining from SONiA that warms an audience with good nature and humanity. You’ll leave this show smiling, humming and tapping your toes; if you’re lucky, you’ll later […] Read more »
