Acoustic Tuesdays at The Gnu’s Room
For several years, our friends at The Gnu’s Room have been presenting live music. Quite often, the artists they have had are people we would have booked at Sundilla, had the circumstances and the calendar been more favorable. Starting in 2013, there will be live music at The Gnu’s Room most every Tuesday, and on the third Tuesday of every month, the concert will be booked by Sundilla. Just like with our shows at the AUUF, we’ll be striving to bring the best of the best; these are concerts you will WANT to attend! The venue is a bit smaller, […] Read more »

Gnu’s Room Christmas
Jake from Teacup & The Monster gathered a group of local musicians this fall and recorded a special Christmas album to benefit The Gnu’s Room. Lydia Cash and David Muller are there along with up-and-comers Ellington Way, Low June, Adventure the Great, The Hedgerow Folk and Sundilla buddy Dave Potts. That’s a lot of great music and all they’re asking for is a suggested donation of $6. Pay double and you’ll feel twice as good! Read more »
Adventure the Great
Adventure the Great is an Auburn-based band that’s been building a sizable following around town. We had the good fortune of welcoming them as opening act during the 2012 concert season, where they were welcomed enthusiastically. Not long after, they released a self-titled EP. Our resident sound guy Kelly Walker profiled them for a radio feature heard on Birmingham’s WBHM 90.3 FM. Adventure the Great brings a lot of musicians and instruments to the stage, so it’s always good to see the entire band, but as you can see in this recent video, they’re great in an intimate setting, too! The Railyard & Standard Deluxe Present the Opelika SHINDIG — Saturday, August 18
The closing of Eighth & Rail left a big hole in the Opelika music scene. Fortunately, Richard is back and he’s brought a team of artist friends along with him to form The Railyard with the self-proclaimed mission of presenting “events that are focused on food, film, art, and music. We are a supporter of anything creative!” They already have an impressive roster of musical acts lined up, but right away you should mark your calendar for the Opelika SHINDIG on Saturday, August 18 beginning at 6:00 p.m., a coproduction with Standard Deluxe featuring music from our friends Adventure the […] Read more »
